What We're Learning
Scripture: Romans 5:12–5:21
Sunday September 16, our learning was in Romans 5:12-21. We learned that Jesus' impact is greater than Adam's impact. That might be hard to believe because we see the fingerprints of our first parents' choices wherever we look. Jesus' obedience and sacrifice transforms us even more than Adam's disobedience impacts us. That's good news!
Sunday, September 9, we learned from Romans 4:1-25 that followers of Jesus are people who have transferred their trust to Jesus. Like Timothy Keller said, "saving faith is a 'trust transfer.'" People of true and living faith don't put their hope in their obedience, they put their hope in Jesus' sacrifice.
Sunday, September 2, we returned to our learning series in Romans, called Steak for You. We learned from Romans 3:21-31. The big idea was that we are made right with God by putting our faith in Jesus. We must come with empty hands ready to receive his grace.
